Writers Collective Tarot Reading: Week of Jan. 20 - Jan. 26, 2025

Updated: Jan 20

Chris Lilly's Blog # 4

In all transparency, I'm still experimenting with how these readings are worded and structured. Below is how these were presented to the members of the Flow Your Mojo Writing Community and since I'm opening this up to the writers of the world, you need to know the intention behind how these readings work, along with some minor housekeeping for those who don't know me:

  1. These are not personal energetic collective readings. These are aimed toward creative writers, screenwriters, and fiction authors and their writing journeys. If you aren't a writer and find the message useful, supercool! I'm not going to take that away from you. I'm just being honest with the intention I used when I pulled the cards.

  2. You have free will to accept and apply the message or completely ignore it.

  3. You are allowed to see something different in the cards than me.

  4. Sometimes the cards don’t make sense at first, so let them sit for a bit and see if anything resonates later.

  5. Reversed cards could be blocked, delayed, healing, or internal energy.

  6. Please comment on how/if this resonates with you and let me know if there is anything I can do better.

  7. Please share this with anyone you feel might find this useful.

  8. If you want a free one-card reading for your writing project, instructions on how to get that are below.

In the words of another popular tarot reader, MadamAdam, "If this reading came across your feed then it's probably for you; let' do it."

Jumper Card: The 10 of Wands

Well, this seems rather fitting, for me at least. This 10 means exhaustion and it's time to delegate some responsibilities to other people. See all those wands that he's carrying? He can't carry them all at once. It's time to put some things down and take trips in order to get your goal accomplished. This might mean that you've taken on too too much and the stress is getting too hard to handle. The nice thing about this card is that is does represent the end of a cycle. If you can put some responsibilities down or ask for help with some of your tasks, you load will lighten, opening yourself up for the Ace of Wands, representing the beginning of a new cycle. So, what can you let go of?

On the Outside: The Queen of Swords

Personally, I like to think of her as Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls. This Queen is witty and smart. Queen are also the feminine side of the Kings. Something to also consider is tat swords are sharp and double edged. There might be some bad news that you need to give to someone hits week (the decapitated head) but try to do it with the recipients feelings in mind. Be as kind as you can when giving this bad news.

The scales in the back also suggest fairness and balance.

On the Inside: The 5 of Wands Reversed

Five's mean conflict in the tarot. This 5 represents the fighting of how a task should be performed. Everyone involved has their own way of accomplishing the goal and they are all different ideas. None are necessarily bad, but there may be too many cooks in the kitchen.

With the card being reversed and on the inside, you may need to consider all the different things/tasks/passions that you have gong on inside of you. There's a part of me that wants to say there are no conflicts, but something is stopping me from saying that 100%.

I wonder if this is a message that is related to the 10 of Wands jumper we got. I wonder what would happen if you put some things down in order to not feel so conflicted on the inside, with whatever it is you're conflicted about.

(More insights later)

Putting Them Together:

All these cards together suggest that you're reaching the end of a cycle, but you probably need to be kind to yourself and/or put yourself first in order to keep going. You might need to tell somebody no this week even though you don't want to. You may even need to tell someone no so that you keep your mental health clear.

Writing/Journal Prompt (It's later):

If the "bad news" scenario resonates with you, you may want to journal the conversation first so that you know what you need to say ahead of time.

With the Wands, you may want to take this week and write down all your responsibilities and discover/decide where to trim the fat.

Extra Insights:

  1. Numbers: 10, 3, 5

  2. Colors: Red and Blue

  3. Major Arcana Message: 10 + 3 + 5 = 18, the Moon. To me, this card represents wandering around in the dark with just enough light to know where you're going, but there's still a lot of dark places and dangers where light needs to be shined to make sure that you are in a safe place.

  4. 2nd Major Arcana message: 1 +8 = 9, the Hermit. This card usually means loneliness or a loner. I think, for this week anyway, the card is telling you to think about yourself this week. What is best for you. You may need to stay in and do some self-care instead of going out to dinner. Focus on you, the bad news you need to give, and what responsibilities you can delegate so that you aren't so stressed out.
